City Utilties Supports Community Causes

A commitment to supporting the community is a high priority at City Utilities of Richland Center, the city’s locally owned, not-for-profit electric, water and waste waterprovider. The utility contributed more than $8,000 in 2017 to support community causes, including:

 

·         A $2,000 Public Power Scholarship awarded to the UW-Richland Campus Foundation for a senior to attend UW-Richland.

·         A $500 donation tothe Richland Pool fund.

·         A $500 donation to the Richland Community Food Pantry.

·         A $500 donation to Rotary Lights in the Park with an additional value of more than $3,000 of in-kind services donated.

·         A $1,000donation toSouthwest Partnersfor Economic Development training.

 

In addition, City Utilities sponsored live educational performances by the National Theatre for Children at two of the elementary schools and provided free bulb recycling for residents of Richland Center. 

 

“It’s important to us to support our neighbors in the community and contribute to organizations that help make our home town a unique, thriving place,” said Rod Perry, Richland Center Utility Commission President.

 

City Utilities’contributions were made possible through community relations funding from the utility’s not-for-profit wholesale power supplier WPPI Energy.
